Threats Against Trump’s Appointees Reveal Left’s War On Democracy

Bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting several of President Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees represent a chilling escalation in political violence. These attacks, which endanger lives, are being investigated by the FBI in what appears to be a coordinated campaign of harassment.

Among the victims is Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR), Trump’s pick for Labor secretary, who reported a pipe bomb threat to her Oregon home. Thanks to swift action by local law enforcement, her family remains safe. Trump’s UN ambassador nominee, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), also faced threats, learning of them while traveling for Thanksgiving.

Swatting, a dangerous tactic that falsely reports emergencies to provoke police raids, was used against several appointees, including HUD nominee Scott Turner. Turner condemned the attacks, stating that such intimidation would not deter him from serving in Trump’s administration.

These incidents come as part of a growing pattern of violence fueled by the left’s rhetoric against Trump. Critics argue that demonizing Trump and his allies has created an environment where violence is seen as a justified form of resistance.

This wave of intimidation goes beyond targeting individuals — it strikes at the heart of American democracy. The peaceful transfer of power depends on respecting the choices of elected leaders, even in disagreement. Yet, these attacks show a dangerous disregard for that principle.
